Aqeeqah is the sacrifice offered in gratitude for the birth of a child — traditionally two sheep for a boy and one for a girl. The meat is shared with family, friends, and those in need, bringing the community together in celebration and worship.
Aqeeqah is the sunnah of offering a sacrifice (sheep or goat) on the occasion of a child's birth, usually performed on the seventh day. It is an expression of gratitude to Allah for the blessing of a new life.
The meat is distributed in three parts — one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor — so that the joy of the occasion is shared, especially with those in need.
